Wakeboarding Camps
Our wakeboarding camps are great for kids and teens of all ages. Ideally we can accommodate 4 to 6 participants at a time with at least one parent present. They can be a 1 day or 2 day camps and it would be best that the kids arrive at the camp on Friday evening.
Safety
As wakeboarding is an extreme sport, we are always aware of and impress upon our students the importance of safety at all times. All our students have to wear life vests when they are on the boats and when they are wakeboarding on the water. As part of the introduction to the course our instructor teaches the students about all the safety aspects of this sport and our boat drivers have the necessary training and experience to drive according to the skill level of the student so that the inevitable falls don’t cause injury.
Accommodation
Accommodation can be provided at the wakeboarding location, as there are 4 comfortable double rooms and one bungalow available. However if you prefer to stay at a hotel in the area, this can be organized for you.
Start Time/ End Time
Camps start early in the morning and end late in the afternoon with a short break for lunch. So be prepared for a rigorous training.
Training - Steps
It would be ideal to come to the camp on a Friday evening in order to settle in. On this first evening the students will get a chance to meet the instructor who will explain the basics of wakeboarding. They will also be given the opportunity to see wakeboarding DVD’s and will get literature to read on the subject. This is all important basic preparation for the next day when the course begins.
Early morning is the best time to get on the water as it is completely calm and ideal for wakeboarding. The instructor will first instruct the students on land. He will tell them how to get out of the water and what is expected of them on the water. He will show them the position they should maintain while standing and then how to slalom from one side to the other.
Certificates
At the end of the course each child will receive a certificate saying he participated in and completed the course.
