It has a welcoming and friendly staff. The rooms are good sized and clean, and the laundry service is of a very good standard. The hotel offers the biggest buffet in the area as well as a la carte; and as a vegetarian I am very well catered for. The UBR has an attractive pool area, including a small shallow infant pool and a pool bar. Definitely a nice place to stay. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and guests consist of a mixture of individual travellers, small groups, families and couples. It is always a hard wrench to leave at the end of every holiday we have had at the UBR, even while flying back to the UK we are always thinking of when we will be back again in Sri Lanka and most of all spending time at the UBR.
